Kanak Songs. Feasts And Lullabies.

Voices, chants and hypnotic percussion. Tracks 10 to 14 are influenced by European music but the rest of the songs are traditional. Recorded in New Caledonia between 1984 and 1987. Liner Notes included.

  3. it's a shame there aren't more traditional recordings from new caledonia, that i know of at least. i will posting around 30-40 ocoras this month so hopefully there will be many more favourites to come :)

  7. no i haven't thank you very much i have been looking for hugo zemp's solomon recordings for a while (or anything recorded by him), i will probably buy some more soon. great blog too! sorry about not posting anything in a while i though the ocora post was enough to last a few months but i will be posting more soon
